About me
Adrienne Kimmell is a strategist, researcher, and communications expert who helps organizations, candidates, and advocacy campaigns understand, persuade, and mobilize conflicted audiences—and translate those insights into measurable political, electoral, and policy victories.
Drawing on behavioral science, cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and decades of experience in public opinion research and strategic communications, she specializes in uncovering the values, emotions, and decision-making processes that shape public opinion and developing messaging that changes minds, moves people to action, and delivers real-world results.
Throughout her career, Adrienne has built and tested messaging frameworks that have shifted public narratives, strengthened advocacy campaigns, and helped candidates win in challenging political environments. Her work focuses on identifying the values, emotions, and cognitive shortcuts that shape decision-making and translating those insights into practical communications strategies that organizations can deploy across paid media, earned media, grassroots organizing, digital engagement, and electoral campaigns.
As founder of Spark Solutions, Adrienne partners with advocacy organizations, coalitions, foundations, candidates, and movement leaders to develop research-driven messaging, communications strategies, and campaign programs that turn public opinion insights into tangible political and policy outcomes.
Previously, Adrienne served as Acting President and Chief Research and Communications Officer of Reproductive Freedom for All (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice America), where she led the organization's research, communications, and political messaging programs during a pivotal period for reproductive freedom advocacy. She spearheaded efforts to reframe reproductive freedom messaging to resonate with broader audiences and mobilize support for the freedom to decide if, when, and how to raise a family. She also helped build and oversee independent expenditure programs that elected reproductive freedom champions up and down the ballot in states across the country.
Among her recent work, Adrienne led groundbreaking research and messaging development for the Transgender Freedom Alliance, developing and validating effective messaging approaches that help candidates, advocates, and elected officials respond to and inoculate against anti-transgender political attacks. The resulting framework has provided a roadmap for candidates, elected officials, and advocates seeking to engage persuadable audiences while maintaining strong support for transgender people and their rights. The research has informed communications efforts nationally and has been successfully utilized by candidates, including Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, demonstrating how values-based messaging can effectively neutralize attacks.
Across every role, Adrienne's work sits at the intersection of research, persuasion, and implementation. She is known for helping organizations understand not only what audiences believe, but why they believe it—and then translating those insights into communications strategies that change minds, shape public narratives, and deliver tangible political, electoral, and policy wins. Her commentary has been featured in national publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Politico, The Atlantic, USA Today, and NPR.
