About me
Crystal Adams (she/her) is a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice in the Healthcare Rights and Access Section of the Public Rights Division, where she works on a variety of lawsuits challenging the Trump Administration’s attacks on public health funding, gender-affirming care, and civil rights protections. Prior to her role at CA DOJ, she enforced federal education civil rights laws in the Educational Opportunities Section of the Civil Rights Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. Additionally, at the National Center for Youth Law, she pursued impact litigation seeking to transform and improve government systems, including in the education, disability, immigration, and juvenile detention contexts. She also enforced federal fair housing laws at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Crystal received her law degree at UC Irvine School of Law and her Bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College. She lives in Oakland.
